Michael Lee Winchester, 60, of Settlement Drive in Lancaster, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014 in Danville. Born March 14, 1954 in Wayne County, Mike was a son of Thelby "Buck" & Pearl Ramsey Winchester of Lancaster. Mike was employed by the Jessamine County Detention Center and enjoyed woodworking and playing guitar. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Wayne Winchester and a sister, Gweneth Alline Winchester.
His survivors other than his parents include his wife, Phyllis Estes Winchester, two sons, Cleo (Angel) Winchester of Richmond , and Chris (Lisa) Winchester of Lancaster, a brother, Jack Winchester of Lexington, and 5 grandchildren, Katlynn , Alexis & Tyler Winchester, Kandice Caudill, & Jacob Bush.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Monday , May 12, 2014 at Ramsey Funeral Home with burial following in Maple Grove Cemetery in Nicholasville. Pallbearers will be Gary Raney, Stevie Ballard, Sammy Marsee, Tommy Gill, Sam Armstrong & Daryl Watson with C.V. Skirvin serving as honorary pallbearer. Visitation will be from 3—7 PM Sunday, May 11, 2014 at the funeral home.
