Emanuel Eller, born in Germany, was the proprietor of the "City Saloon" on Walnut Street in Lawrenceburg, Dearborn County, Indiana. Records show he enlisted in the Union Army 24 Aug 1861 as a Private in Cmpany G of the 32nd Indiana Regiment. Later he is shown as a Lieutenant and on 22 Oct 1862 as Captain of that unit.
