Monroe Ledford, age 75, of Hiawassee, Georgia passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Chatuge Regional Hospital after a brief illness. Monroe was born in Murphy, North Carolina on April 3, 1948 to the late Willard and Mattie (Kitchens) Ledford.

Monroe married the love of his life, Mrs. Evelyn Denton on February 25,1967; the two were inseparable and even worked together at each job their entire life until she passed in 2019. She was from the Jacob Eller line.

Gary Gene Eller of Farmington passed into eternal life on November 9, 2023, at Cedarhurst of Farmington at the age of 72.  He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on April 29, 1951, to the late Billy G. He was with the Farmington Public Schools where he was a middle school Social Studies teacher and coached football, track, and girls’ softball.  Gary was also a basketball referee in  the area for many years.

Richard Spurgon Eller, age 91, of Elk Park, North Carolina passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023, at his residence.

He was born on March 16, 1932, in Avery County, North Carolina, a son of the late Jake Hoose Eller and the late Mary Tucker Eller. He was from the George Michael Eller line.

He served his country in the US Army in Korea and worked in Finance, spending 19 years in Los Angeles. Dick ran a Retail Motorcycle Shop.

Rev. Daniel Eller, age 66, of Kansas City, Kansas passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023. Dan was born on November 15, 1956 in Junction City, Kansas. He moved to the Kansas City area in the late 1980’s. He was from the Jacob Ellr (of Roanoke) line.

He was the pastor at White Church Christian Church for 14 years. Dan was a sports lover, always rooting on K-State, the Chiefs and the Royals! He enjoyed taking care of his yard, eating good food, and being with his church family.

Sylvan Dean Eller M.D., age 86 of Clayton, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023. He was preceded in death by his wife: Mary Jo (Rule) Eller, and parents: Ralph C. and Verna M. (Wolf) Eller. He was from the Jacob Eller (Roanoke) family.

He worked for Radiology Physicians Incorporated at Miami Valley Hospital for many years. Sylvan was a graduate of Indiana University Medical School in 1967 and a member of the Montgomery County Medical Society. He was also a member of the Wolf Creek Old German Baptist Brethren Church.

Reba was a member of Watauga Baptist Church.  She retired from the ASU Book Store as an accountant clerk with more than 30 years of service.

He worked many years at Preston Safeway as a butcher Stanley loved being outdoors, gardening, and spending time with his family and his beloved dog, Missy. Rev. Harold J. Eller, age 95, of Lancaster, widower of Louise Cohen Eller, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, November 9, 2023. Rev. Eller was born in Union, March 19, 1028, a son of the late John Clarence Eller and Inez Edwards Eller. He was from the Augustus Eller line.

Rev. Eller was a WWII veteran with the US Air Force and served in the Army Reserves during the Korean Conflict. He was a Presbyterian minister having pastored several churches in South Carolina.

A daughter of the late Robert Eller and Virginia Garrett Densmore Eller, she was born November 20, 1965 in Habersham County, Georgia, having lived most of her life in Stephens and Franklin County. Survivors include two daughters, Jennifer Watkins and Tammy Austin both of Carnesville; sisters, Dorothy Foster of Toccoa and Wilma Garrett Owen of Carnesville; brother, Jerry Lynch of Toccoa; a number of nieces and nephews.

Jesse Lee Eller, 39, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023.He was born on January 22, 1984 to Carolyn and Steven Eller. Jesse was from the Henry Eller line. He spent his life in Great Falls, MT attending CMR High School and graduating with the class of 2003. From there, Jesse went on to pursue a career in law enforcement. 

Jesse was an outdoorsman at heart and had a deep love for all of nature. When the weather was nice, you could find him fishing, hunting, hiking, kayaking, or taking long walks with his dog, Bear.

On October 27, 2023, Phillip Ray Eller of Monticello, passed away peacefully in his home. Phillip was a retired local National Guard member, retiring at the rank of First Seargent. He also retired from working for the State of Kentucky.

Bennie Ruth Eller, 93, entered her Heavenly home on Tuesday, October 31, 2023. She was born April 1, 1930 in Wagoner, Oklahoma to Lee Washington Box and Alice Able (Judge) Box. She attended public schools and graduated from Hulbert High School. Bennie married the love of her life and best friend, Ralph “Dutch” Monroe Eller on January 5, 1951. He was from the Jacob Eller line.

Ralph and Bennie made their home in Muskogee, Oklahoma where she worked a short time at the telephone company before becoming a rancher’s wife. She enjoyed farm life with her husband for many years and dutifully took care of him for 7 years while he was on dialysis.

Mary LuRene passed away peacefully at home in the early morning of October 23, 2023, at the age of 94. “LuRene”, as she was called, was born in Laketown, Utah on March 16, 1929. She was from the John Baptist Eller line.

She married Delford Leslie Webb on December 29, 1948 in the Logan LDS Temple. He passed away on February 24, 2019. Before his passing, wherever Dad was, Mom was there also, whether it was working or playing.

Frankie Summers Eller, 83 of Statesville, died Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at her home after an extended illness. She was born in Iredell County on July 15, 1940, to the late George Summers and Alice Beckham Summers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Eller. Frankie was a wonderful gardener and could grow anything. She was loved by her family and will be missed.

Shannon Kristain Eller

Shannon Eller passed away on October 2, 2023 after a second battle with cancer. She found death "incredibly inconvenient" but she was at peace with God's plan and kept her trademark humor until the very end.

She is survived by her loving family, John & Sherry Rego, and nieces Madelyn Rego, Charlotte Rego, Georgia Rego, Lucy Scheffer and Victoria Scheffer. Of all the roles she played, she will miss being "Auntie Shannon" the most.

Becky and her family moved to Carolina Beach just prior to her first birthday. Known as “Becky” by her friends and “Dawn” by her family, she worked for New Hanover County Schools for almost twenty years as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant.

Bobby Lee Eller, 91, of Albemarle, passed away Friday, October 13, 2023 at Forest Oakes Healthcare Center in Albemarle, NC. He was born April 12, 1932 in Rowan County to the late Homer Lee and Willie Mae Eller Park. We believe he was from the George Michael Eller line.

Bobby was educated in Rowan County Schools and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a minister at many churches over the years serving Rowan, Davidson, Stanly, and Lincoln counties.

LeAnne Davis McCurdy Eller, 61 of Pocatello, Idaho, passed away October 26, 2023 following a heart attack.  She was born July 4, 1962 in Pocatello, Idaho the Daughter of Glynn Robert (Bob) and Bobby Davis.

On March 21, 2022 she married Russell Richards Eller in Elko, Nevado. He was from the Henry Eller, Sr. line. LeAnne and Russ loved going on walks and long drives together.  LeAnne loved sharing her family with Russ. She loved spending time watching her grandkids with Russ.

"Tommy" as he was fondly called is survived by his wife of 63 years Melvadene Boston Eller, son Zane Eller (Lana Ensley), and grandsons Mason, Hudson, and Maddox. He was predeceased by : his brother Ben Eller, Jr. (Janice); and his parents, Benjamin J. Eller and Katherine Crawford Eller. He was from the George Michael Eller line.  

Tommy played semi-professional baseball and officiated during many sports league games including but not limited to umpiring baseball as well as softball and refereeing during basketball games for many years. He was an avid golfer.

Adrienne Kimball, 92, of Tampa, FL died October 12, 2023. She was born in Tampa, FL in 1931 to Adrienne Phillips Eller and Walter Frederick Eller and raised in Raleigh, NC. She was from the George Michael Eller line.

Adrienne returned to Tampa as a young adult with her mother. She continued her college studies and worked as a secretary. When her mother became ill, Adrienne left college to care for her. She met Mark Everett Kimball, who was stationed at MacDill Air Force Base, and after a whirlwind courtship, the two were engaged.

Amy loved gardening, especially working in her flower beds and just enjoyed the outdoors. She also loved the family dog, Georgia. She was a 1994 West York High School graduate and received her Bachelor’s degree from York College in 1998.

Wanda was a faithful member at Bell Scene Baptist Church and member of the church choir. She spent most of her life singing with different gospel groups throughout the tri-county area.

Roberta “Bert” Eller, 69, died peacefully at home of natural causes on Tuesday, September 5, 2023. She was born on December 5, 1953, in Nevada, IA, the daughter of Billie Joe and Doris McIntire.

She graduated from Nevada High School in 1972. On September 2nd of the same year, she was united in marriage to Carey Eller. Bert worked alongside Carey in the office for her family’s business, Eller Insulation. He was from the John Eller, Sr. line.

Ruby Maxine Eller, 90, passed away at 12:35 p.m. on Friday, September 29, 2023 at Sunrise of San Mateo in San Mateo, California with family present. She was born on November 20, 1932, in McAlester to Loretta and Alvie McDougal. She married Billie Joe Eller on September 13, 1948. He was from the John H. Eller line.

Mrs. Patricia (Patsy) Ann King age 73 took her heavenly flight on September 26, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 24, 1949 to Nevert Mae Berrong and Robbie Lee Parton. She was grom the Jacob Eller line. She grew up and met her loving husband, Hoyle King, and later had 3 sons; Trance, Terry, and Marty.

She enjoyed reading her bible, cooking for the family, spending time with her grandkids and kids, and being a caretaker to many whether it was her husband, her mother, or her sons and grandkids.

Bonnie Kay Eller, 64, of Decatur, IL, passed away on Tuesday (09-19-2023) in her home. Bonnie was born on April 15, 1959, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of John Edward Eller and Hilda Leona (Bell) Eller. She was from the George Michael Eller line.

Bonnie is survived by her husband Doug Bradley of Decatur, IL; sons: Kenneth Eller and wife Brittney of Decatur, IL, and Michael Nietupski of Decatur, IL.; daughter: Tina Marie Deetz and Todd Messamore of Decatur, IL.

She was the owner/operator of Eller Hauling. She also loved gardening and spending time outdoors.

Patsy Sue Eller Shepherd, 82, of Salisbury passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at her residence. Born in Rowan County on May 30, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Myrtle Iddings and William Bryant Eller. She was from the John Melker Eller line.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Ray Shepherd, Sr. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Ernest Ray Shepherd, Jr. (Sarah) of Lincolnton, NC; daughters, Cher Shue (Greg) of Salisbury, NC and Kari Shepherd of Salisbury, NC; and brother, Larry Eller (Chris) of Belmont, NC.

Robert David “Bob” Eller of Bryan Texas, passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2023 surrounded by his loving family and friends after a hard fought battle with cancer. Bob was born in Houston Texas on November 9, 1959 to Carrie Daphne and James Marion Eller, Jr. He was from the George Michael Eller line.

He graduated from Bryan High in 1978 and began working for the family business, Granada Land and Cattle. He later made his career as a Petroleum Landman.

Mrs. Mildred Katherine Evans, age 79, of Nicholson passed away peacefully on August 27, 2023, at her home after an extended illness. Mrs. Evans was born in Ila to the late Esco and Leila Pruitt Wood. She was from the Jacob Eller line.

Sharon ‘Sue’ Eller, age 80, of Shelby, Nebraska, passed away August 17, 2023 at UNMC in Omaha. Sue was born March 25, 1943 in Stromsburg, Nebraska to Lloyd and Eva (Smith) Scow. On February 23, 1961 she was united in marriage to Leon Nicholus Eller. He is from the Wilhelm Eller line.

Sue was a farm wife and enjoyed helping with everything. Sue worked as a secretary at Shelby Public Schools for a number of years.

Dorothy Christopher Eller

Born in Rowan County on April 12, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Worth Levi Christopher and Bertie Payne Christopher. She was prececeased by her husband, Alby Lewis Eller. He was from the George Michael Eller line.

Her favorite things in life included traveling, sitting on the front porch, but most of all, her love for her family. She will always be remembered as being a “super mom”.

Miok Chon Eller age 53, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023 in the Johnson City (TN) Medical Center.  She was born December 12, 1969 in Okku Kun Chonpuk Province in South Korea to the late Chon Sok Chang and Pak Chong Nin of Junsan, South Korea. 

In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her husband, Gregory Franklin Eller, who passed away in 2021. He was from the George Michael Eller line.

Miok was a homemaker and enjoyed golfing, gardening and cooking.

Homer Arrowood, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, departed this world on August 26, 2023, to be with his Heavenly Father. He was born on May 30, 1949, in Hiawassee, Georgia to the late Homer Vaughn Arrowood and Wanda McClure Arrowood Woody. He was from the Jacob Eller line.

David Stephen Eller was born September 10, 1965 in Waco, Texas to Louise and J.N. Eller. He grew up along with his older brother Gary as an ‘Air Force brat’ following his parents around the world: Texas, California, Kansas, the Netherlands, Virginia, and back to Texas where he graduated from Conroe High School in 1983.

David’s life-long joy was fishing, and anyone that knew him longer than 5 minutes likely heard tales from his most recent fishing trip.

The family of Roberta M. Copeland announces her passing on Monday, August 7, 2023.  Roberta passed peacefully at her home surrounded by her family and dear friend, Donna Zingale. James Tracy Eller, 47, passed away at home on Thursday, August 31, 2023. The loving husband of Leslie Owens-Eller. James was born to the late William Clyde Eller Sr. and Polly Profitt Eller on December 30, 1975, in Versailles, Kentucky. We believe he is from the George Michael Eller line.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking in the woods, and playing cards. James has been a carpenter since he was 17 years old and one of his greatest achievements was his business Eller Carpentry, but above all he loved his dogs and his family.

She is survived by her husband, Grover "G.C." Guinn, children, Tyler Guinn, Latisha (and Jeff) Foust, Christopher Guinn, all of Monticello, Kentucky, Kyle Baker of Florida and Blayze Guinn of Monticello, Kentucky, She was from the Mary Polly Eller line.

She was of the Baptist Faith and worked as a Saw Operator for American Woodmark.

Mr. Steve Chastain, age 71, of Eastman, GA died Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Heart of Georgia Nursing Home. Mr. Chastain was born in 1951 in Hiawassee, GA, in Towns County.

He was a 1969 graduate of Sprayberry High School in Marietta. Steve joined the U.S. Air Force Reserves, and he was stationed at Dobbins AFB in Marietta. He served in the Reserves for 10 years. . We announce the passing of Colin Bertram Guenther Eller in his 86th year, on July 1, 2023. Husband of Deborah, Father of Shelley (RJ) of Kitchener and Robert of Vancouver. Predeceased by his son, David (2018).

After a successful 30-plus year career, Colin retired as a Tool Engineer from General Motors; his hobbies included woodworking, gardening and singing. Colin sang for many years adding his beautiful bass vocals to the Mountainview Church Choir and Chorus Niagara.

Keith Eugene Hunnicutt, age 66, of Hiawassee, Georgia passed away on Friday, July 7, 2023 at Union General Hospital in Blairsville, Georgia. Keith was born on April 15, 1957 to the late Felder "Bill" and Francis (Nicholson) Hunnicutt in Hiawassee. He was from the Jacob Eller line.

There was never a dull moment when Keith was around. He was a comedian and a jokester. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He especially loved searching for arrowheads, digging for ramps, and hunting for ginseng.

Hansel Ray Eller, age 78, of Seneca, South Carolina formerly of Clayton, Georgia, passed away Monday, July 24, 2023 at his residence. Hansel was born December 18, 1944, in Clayton, Georgia, the son of Bennie Ray and Rosa Mae Eller. He was from the Jacob Eller line.

He is survived by his spouse Gloria Chappell Eller of Seneca, SC; three children, Hanselena Graves (Bryan) of Newberry, SC, April Yu (Jae) of Macon, GA, and Bryon Eller of Seneca, SC;

Hansel was raised in Rabun County and became a preacher early in life before he joined the United States Army in 1963. He was a Veteran who proudly served our country for three years during the Vietnam Conflict.

Elizabeth “Ansley” Eller Angel, 49 of Lexington, South Carolina, passed away on July 14, 2023.   She was born March 4, 1974, to Deborah and Walter Eller, Jr.  She was from the George Michael Eller line.

Pauline O. Eller, 104 years old, passed into heaven on July 4, 2023. She was born on October 28, 1918, to her parents Charley A. and Faye M. (Brubaker) Eller. She was from the Roanoke Jacob Eller line.

Pauline graduated from Ervin Township High School in 1937. She worked at Delco Electronics for thirty years from 1944-1974 on the radio production line. During that time, she lived with and cared for her mother, Faye, until her passing in 1970.

She married Charles Eller on February 18, 1956 and they raised their family in College Park, Maryland. He was from the George Michael Eller line.

Bobbie started her career for the telephone company, C&P Telephone (now known as Verizon) as an operator and worked her way up to supervisor.

James “Jim” Carlton Eller, 92, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, passed away on June 28, 2023. Jim was born on January 6, 1931, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where he was a lifelong resident. He attended Summit School and went on to graduate high school from Woodberry Forest School. While at Woodberry, he gained the name “Shady” due to a funny story involving a paper airplane in class. He noted that some of the happiest times in his life were spent at Woodberry. 

While in college, Jim met Doris McMillan Eller. She was the love of his life. They wed after he returned from serving in the Navy and they were married 67 wonderful years. They have one daughter, Elaine Eller Stephenson.

Chantile Dawn Jean Eller age 36 of Shallotte NC passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at her home. She was born on June 24, 1986 in Rowan County, and was the the daughter of Trenton Mullis and Donnia Stiller Mauldin. We do not know how she ties into the Eller family.

She worked as a housekeeper at the beach. She loved dancing, singing, walking on the beach and playing with her children.

Martha Louise Lovell Franklin, aged 78 of Clarkesville, went home to be with the Lord on June 22, 2023 after an extended battle with breast cancer.

Born in Habersham County on November 18, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Isaac & Mervin Jenkins Lovell. Martha goes back to Susannah "Sukey" Eller through her son William Bill Eller.

She was a former secretary at Riegel Textile, owned and operated a poultry and cattle farm with her husband until his passing.

Jerry Wayne Eller, 78, of Altoona passed away Wednesday June 14th, 2023, at the VA Hospital in Birmingham. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Calvin and Evelyn Eller. He was from the Eli Eller line.

Jerry was born and raised in Horton and moved to Altoona seven years ago.  Jerry was a market manager at Food World for over 20 years until his retirement.

Louise was born in Richmond, VA and lived for many years in Wall Township and Oakhurst before moving to Seabrook Village, Tinton Falls in 2004. During WWII, Louise served in the U.S. Army, Private First Class, stationed at Finney General Hospital, GA.

Louise was predeceased by her husband Herbert W., whom she met and married while stationed in Fort Stewart, GA.

Edna Mae Gibson Eller, 82, wife of the late Tillman Gene Eller of Westminster, SC went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June, 28th 2023 surrounded by her loving Family. Her husband, Tillman, was from the Jacob Eller line.

Edna was born on March 22, 1941, in the Richland community of Westminster, SC and was the daughter of the late Isaac Sylvester and Annie Elizabeth Hoxit Gibson.

She held many jobs over the years, but the one she enjoyed the most was housekeeping at Oconee Memorial Hospital.

Cline was a native of Hiawassee, Georgia living the past fifty plus years in Marietta, Georgia. He was from the Jacob Eller line.

At 18 years old he started working with the United States Postal Service and retired when he was 48. After the USPS he started working on cars and that's where he got his nick name "Honda Hugh". He loved fishing, gambling, real estate, and was an avid gardener.

Iris Ann Eller (89), of Midway, WV passed away on May 13, 2023, at Lynchburg General Hospital in Lynchburg, VA from complications of a stroke. She had recently been making her home at Liberty Ridge Senior Living Community in Lynchburg, VA. Iris was born on October 22, 1933, in Stotesbury, WV to Leonard and Nettie Miller Eastman. 

After high school, she briefly attended Beckley College before marrying her high school sweetheart, Jack Eller. He was from the George Michael Eller line. After marrying, Iris was a homemaker enjoying her family, especially her children and grandchildren.

Lucille Darnell Wood age 88, of Demorest, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023. Born on September 9, 1934, in Demorest, she was a daughter of the late Paul Darnell and Grace Chambers Darnell. Mrs. Wood was retired from Northeast Georgia Fabric as a seamstress.

Helen Curry Eller, age 106 of Troy, passed away peacefully at her home on May 4, 2023. Mrs. Eller was born on July 30, 1916 in the old Curry Home Place, a mile and a half west of Troy, TN to the late Millon Curtis Curry and the late Bessie Ward Dueease Curry. She married Mr. Edward B. Eller, Sr. on June 27, 1939. He preceded her in death on August 18, 2007. HHe was from the Jacob Eller line.

In addition to her love for public school teaching, Mrs. Eller loved to sing and entertain at parties, birthdays and anniversaries. She also sang at funerals and church affairs in the Obion County area.

Jack C. “Papaw” Eller, 95, of Johnson City, TN went to meet his Lord and Savior on May 28, 2023. He was born October 1, 1927, in Johnson County, TN, the youngest son of the late Jesse Franklin and Eliza Patrick Eller. He was from the George Michael Eller line.

In 1947, his family moved from Johnson County to Carter County where he met his one true love, June Sanders. They married on June 16, 1950, and were married over 72 years at the time of his passing.

Papaw was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Japan during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Marvin Ray Waldroup age 54 of Pilots Peak Suches passed away peacefully on Monday May 15, 2023 in Blairsville following an extended illness. Donald was born on August 27, 1951 in Decatur, IL at St. Mary’s Hospital. He grew up in Decatur and graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1970. He and his wife Nancy got married on December 31, 1991. He was from the George Michael Eller line.

Donald retired from the Urbana Sanitary district in 2017 after working there for 30 years. He enjoyed drag racing, basketball- which he played in high school, and painting automobiles.

Mrs. Carole Jean Stephens Ash, age 82, of Yatesville, died peacefully Sunday, April 16, 2023, at Somerby Assisted Living in Peachtree City, Georgia. Carole goes back to Susannah "Sukey" Eller through her son, Joseph. Her great grandparents were Jonathan Nicholson and Elizabeth Ann "Betsy" Eller.

 She was a 1958 graduate of Towns County High School, and she later in life earned her nursing degree from Gordon College. She was employed as a nurse for the Monroe County Hospital and later the Monroe County Health Department.

Samantha Elizabeth Adams Eller, age 41, of Toccoa, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Monday, April 17, 2023, after a courageous battle with leukemia. A daughter of the late James M. and Faye S. Adams, she was born June 24, 1981, in Toccoa, Georgia, where she lived most of her life. 

Samantha is survived by her adoring husband of 23 years, Jeremy Eller; three sons, Austin, Carter, and Colton Eller. Mr Eller is from the Jacob Eller line by three of Susannah "Sukey" Eller's sons.

Max was born on October 29, 1936 in Caldwell County to the late Dock and Effie Baker Eller. He was from the George Michael Eller line. He was affectionately known as Paw-Paw to those closest to him.

Rose M. Eller, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and teacher, passed away peacefully at home on April 10, 2023 at age 98. Rose spent her childhood with her parents, brother, and 3 sisters on a farm in Plainsboro. She later married William Eller and the couple had two daughters, Linda and Diane. Mr. Eller was from the Joseph Eller line.

She attended Douglass College at Rutgers and obtained her Masters there. Rose had a long and fulfilling teaching career at Hightstown High School, where she retired as head of the Foreign Language Dept.

The Reverend Dr. Samuel Barry Eller, 74, devoted husband of Barbara Rogers Eller, went to be with his Lord and Savior surrounded by his family on Monday, April 3, 2023.

Born in Union, SC, he was a son of the late The Reverend  and Mrs. Benjamin Lee, Eller Jr. (Frances Geneva Tucker). He was from the Augustus Eller line.

Barry and Barbara grew up as childhood friends through the Lemira Presbyterian Church with their families often getting together to watch TV and fellowship. It was years later, after graduating high school, that their friendship blossomed. They were married in 1970 in Sumter, SC and started their family.

Wilda Mae Bishop, age 75, of Hiawassee, Georgia passed away from complications of kidney disease. Wilda was born to the late Cline and Ruth Moss Oswald in Hiawassee, Georgia on January 05, 1948. She was from the Jacob Eller line.

Wilda was a surgical nurse at Northeast Georgia Medical Center for over thirty years. She was the definition of tough; her battle with kidney disease was a prime example; she fought through the pain of her illnesses and life.

Retta J. Eller, 42, of Springfield, died at 4:20 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at her residence. Retta was born on August 15, 1980, in Springfield, the daughter of John Eller and Kathie (Strauss) Vlahos.

She previously worked as a CNA for Memorial Medical Center and had also worked for the DMV. Retta was a talented seamstress and liked to study, design, and create period pieces. She also made costumes for the Magic Circle Theater in Montrose, CO.

Sandra “Sandy” Lyn Eller Hall age 76, of Demorest, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023. She was from the Jacob Eller line.

Mrs. Hall was retired from Ethicon, in earlier years she worked for Clarkesville Mill and First National Bank. She also worked from home attaching hair to Xavier Roberts’ Little People and Cabbage Patch Kids.

In her spare time, she was a seamstress, made wedding dresses, and clothing for family. Sandra also enjoyed oil painting and flower gardening. She was of the Baptist faith and was a former member of Ladies Auxiliary Grant Reeves VFW Post #7720.

Paul Edward "Jack" Eller

Paul "Jack" Eller was born on March 24, 1940 to the late Bell and Nell Icenhour Eller.  In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by two sisters, Oma  Norris (Lee) and Mary Ann Dickens (Shot); brother, Delmer Eller. He was from the George Michael Eller line.

Philip James Clelland
1992-2023

Philip James Clelland, born April 15th, 1992 and left this earth unexpectedly on March 14th, 2023. He leaves behind many broken hearts and lots of love. Survived by his parents Nelda Casper Clelland and Jim Clelland (Carol); his brother Douglas (Karen) and their children. He was from the Jacob Eller line.

He was a prolific athlete who excelled in all his sports endeavors; soccer, ultimate frisbee, running, basketball, football, tennis, pickleball, golf, ping pong, to name just a few.

Mary Lucile Wall Ivester, age 94 of Turnerville, Georgia took her heavenly flight home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 17, 2023. Born in Newry, South Carolina on September 26, 1928, she was the daughter of the late William Sanford & Ella May Hamby Wall. She was from the Jacob Eller line.

Lucile was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, canning vegetables, and sewing.

Lillian Moss Mull
1947-2023

Lillian Moss Mull, age 75, of Hayesville, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, March 14, 2023. She was born June 3, 1947 in Hiawassee, Georgia to the late Clarence and Kate Gribble Moss. She was from the Jacob Eller line.

Following graduation, she moved to Atlanta to work where she met and later married Floyd Mull. She then moved to Hayesville to make her home.

Shirley Ann McAlister Eller, 77, wife of Alvoyd Eller, from the Jacob Eller line, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2023 at Prisma Health - Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Oconee County, South Carolina, Shirley was the daughter of the late Clyde Eugene McAlister and Bertha Smith Roach.

David Clyde Hamilton

David Clyde Hamilton, age 45 of Clarkesville, passed away March 1, 2023. Born in Toccoa, Georgia on August 19, 1977, David was the son of Martha Gragg and the late Cyde Hamilton.  David goes back to Susannah "Sukey" Eller through her son, Joseph.

David was a Class of 1996 graduate of Habersham Central High School and he was formerly employed with Regal Manufacturing.

James Joseph Eller
1942-2023

James "Jim" Eller died unexpectedly on March 7, 2023 at his home in Lubbock, Texas. Jim Eller was born on November 19, 1942 to Catherine (Hagen) Eller and Hubert Eller in Saint Cloud, Minnesota. He was from the Wilhelm Eller line.

After Jim graduated from Cathedral High School in 1961, he worked various jobs until being drafted in 1964. After he returned from the army, he worked at the Veterans Administration for 40 years until his retirement.

Nellie Gray Eller
1943-2023

Nellie passed peacefully at her home, Thursday, March 23, 2023. Knowing she is with Elmo now, provides comfort to our broken hearts. She was the yard sale queen and never met a stranger.

Nellie was born to Bryce and Gladys Orr, the youngest of eight siblings. She married Elmo Eller, the love of her life, April 20th, 1962. He was from the George Michael Eller line.

Vaughn Barrett, 101, of Hiawassee, Ga, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at Chatuge Regional Nursing Home. Vaughn was born May 13, 1921, in Hiawassee, Ga to Avery and Tassie Barrett. He was from the Jacob Eller line.

A lifelong resient of Towns County, he was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He was the oldest living World War II veteran in Towns county. He served in the U.S. Army, achieving the rank of Corporal.

Maxine L. (Stokes) Eller

Maxine L. (Stokes) Eller, 86, of Wheeler, Illinois, formerly of Bingham, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Lakeland Rehab & Healthcare Center in Effingham, Illinois.

Born June 8, 1936, in Rural Ramsey, IL, the daughter of Virgil Ralph & Goldie Evelyn (Jackson) Stokes. She married Cecil Don Eller on February 9, 1952, in Pocahontas, AR, they had a 67-year marriage until December 1, 2018 when God called Cecil home. Cecil was from the John Jacob Eller line.

Suzanne Eller
1956-2023

Suzanne P. Eller, age 66, of Ashtabula, OH., passed away on March 8th, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family. Born on July 25th, 1956, to parents Helen (Puchan) Chabola and Thomas Chabola in Pierpont, Ohio.

Suzanne graduated from Edgewood Senior High School in 1974. She married her love, Thomas Eller on March 27th,1990. Suzanne worked hard as a bus driver for the Buckeye School District, eventually earning her well-deserved retirement.

June M. Eller, Age 91, of Penn Yan, NY, passed away February 23, 2023. June was born in Orlando, Florida on December 15, 1931, the daughter of James H. Eller and Lillie (Keene) Cruickshank.  She was from the Jacob Eller line.

She retired from Soldiers and Sailors Hospital.  She was a resident of St. Mark’s Terrace in Penn Yan, NY.

Mrs. Joyce Felts Eller, age 85 of Wilkesboro passed away Friday, February 17, 2023 at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Joyce was born February 16, 1938 in Wilkes County to Millard Everette and Mae Yale Felts. She was a member of Wilkesboro Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years; Earl Dean Eller of the home, a daughter; Angela Yale Eller of Wilkesboro and a son; Mark Dean Eller of Wilkesboro.

David James Eller

David James Eller was born on March 31,1966, in Cortez, Colorado to Larry and Rosie (Roundtree) Eller, the second of three boys.

David started his walk with God and was baptized into The General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn. His parents had always encouraged their boys to believe in God, but they did not attend a church of their own. David found the church, that through the scripture answered a thought that he had wrestled with since he was a little boy.

Loving mother, grandmother, wife and friend to so many Ann Ber Gust Eller died peacefully in her sleep surrounded by loved ones at her home in Hendersonville, North Carolina on February 27, 2023.

She was born to parents Annie Ber Gust and Louis Edward Gust on April 27, 1932 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Ann was 90 years old and was married to Carl William Eller, Jr.until his death in 2011. Mr Elleer traced his ancestry back to Carl William Eller, Sr who immigrated from Germany in 1924.

Carolyn Ann Eller Heaton, 80 of Tellico Plains, TN, finished her Earthly journey on Monday, February 13, 2023 and is now in the arms of Jesus, after many long years of struggling with dementia.

 Carolyn is preceded in death by her father, Joseph Arthur Eller; mother, Imogene Boring Millsaps; and brother, Tommy Allman. Carolyn is survived by her loving husband, Troy Heaton, of 62 years and her three children.

Raymond Lewis “Louie” Eller, of Ulm, Montana passed on January 20, 2023, at the age of 77 years. Louie was a loving and caring husband, father, and loyal friend. Louie was born on January 16, 1946, in Great Falls, MT to Samuel Henry and Dorothy Ann Matthews. He grew up on the family farm in Castner Falls, MT with his 4 siblings. He was from the Henry Eller line.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army in 1964. Louie is a veteran of the Vietnam War. Louie was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years (Kathleen “Kathy”) in August 2022 and his parents Samuel and Dorothy.

Norma Anderson, 92, of Hayesville passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Alfred and Effie Ledford Eller. She was from the Jacob Eller line.

Norma had worked as a florist. She was a Senior member of the Shooting Creek Church of God for over 75 years. The younger generation called her Nana. In addition to the parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Max Anderson; and and nine brothers and sisters.

Joe Thomas Eller

Joe Thomas Eller, age 91 of North Wilkesboro went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 11, 2023, at SECU Hospice Care Center in Yadkinville. Joe was born to Isaac and Virginia Eller in North Wilkesboro. He was from the George Michael Eller line.

After serving in the Korean War, he attended Appalachian Teachers College where he met the love of his life Carole Wilson. They married after finishing college. He worked for the Wilkes County School System for thirty years.

George William “Bill” Eller, Jr., age 85, of Nottingham, PA, died peacefully on Thursday, January 5, 2023, after a short illness. Bill was born on July 10, 1937, in Drumore Township, Pennsylvania, the son of the late George and Genevieve Eller.He was from the George Michael Eller line.

Janie McCarter Eller, 101, of Van Alstyne, formerly of Fannin County, was born July 23, 1921 in Ravenna, Texas, the daughter of Charles Oscar “Charlie” McCarter and Mary Katherine Howland McCarter.  She was a graduate of Bonham High School and East Texas State Teachers College in Commerce, Texas. 

Janie married Thomas Stanley Eller on January 26, 1941 in Durant, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death on September 12, 1990.  He was from the Christian Eller line. She owned and operated, along with her family, the Ivanhoe General Store for many years and served as the County Librarian for Fannin County.

Bandy M. Eller, 70, of Staunton, Illinois, passed away at 5:11 PM on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.  She was born June 26, 1952 in Litchfield, Illinois, the daughter of the late Richard U. Eller Sr. & the late Norma J. (Colbert) Mahanay.  

She is survived by her cherished daughter, Rose Sarah Marie Eller (Dalton Baugh) of Edwardsville, IL and her brothers & sisters.

Ramona West Nichols

Ramona West Nichols, born in Warne, North Carolina on December 3, 1936, passed away on January 23, 2023, at the age of 86 at her home in Hiawassee, Georgia after a battle with cancer. Ramona was born to Wayne Grade West and Mildred Barnard West and traveled the world as an “Army brat.”

Mrs. Jeanette "Judy" Nicholson Dover, 92, of Hiawassee, Georgia passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023. She was born to the late Hobson and Bertie (Jordan) Nicholson in Franklin County, Georgia on February 26, 1930.

Judy was of the baptist faith. She married the love of her life, Neal Dover, on April 5, 1960. Mr. Dover was from the Jacob Eller line.

Mr. Hayden Travis Eller, age 42 of Ferguson passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023. Hayden was born August 4, 1980 in Wilkes County to Reggie Hayden and Linda Wilkerson Eller. He was from the George Michael Eller line.  

Hayden never met a stranger.  He was gifted with a beautiful voice, the ability to play the piano and guitar and he had a way with words.

John Douglas Eller
1968-2023

On Monday, January 9th, 2023 John Douglas Eller laid his crops by after 54 years, finishing his work on earth and entering into the presence of his Saviour.  Doug was born on March 25, 1968 in Medina, OH the son of John and Barbara Repp Eller. He grew up in Burbank, OH He was from the Jacob Eller line.

 Doug was an excellent mechanic who started at the Honda shop in Wooster, OH and later J&C Snowmobiles in Sullivan, OH where he developed a love for snowmobiles which he continued to enjoy throughout the years.  After realizing he “didn’t want to turn a wrench for the rest of his life” he returned back to farming.

Pat Eller, age 87, of Radcliffe, IA, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2023 at her home in Radcliffe, IA. Patricia was born to James and Marion Partch on June 2, 1935 in Gunnison, Colorado. On June 16, 1956, Pat and Merlin Eller were united in marriage in Gunnison, Colorado.

Throughout their lives together, they lived in Powell, Wyoming and Grand Junction, Colorado before settling in Radcliffe, Iowa. They were blessed with four sons, Kent, Kirk, Kory and Kyle.

Edith Faye Petska, 88 of Coalton, IL , passed away Monday, January 30, 2023 at her home with family by her side. Edith Petska was born April 11, 1934 in Ramsey, Illinois to Rev. John and Sarah Frances (Dilbeck) Eller and they preceded her in death.  She was from the Jacob Eller line.

She loved playing Bingo and had bowled for many years on  ladies' leagues at Town Pump Bowl.

Renee Bolick Eller, age 57, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 30, 2023 at her residence. She resided in the Sawmills Community with her husband of 39 years, William “Glen” Eller.

Renee was a loving wife, mother to many people, Nene to her grandchildren, daughter, sister and friends. Her strong will inspired many of the people she came in contact with throughout her life.

Mary Eller Faris

Mary Eller Faris, aged 83, passed away January 13, 2023, surrounded in peace and love in the Midlothian, VA home of her daughter Deborah Bingham. Born October 18, 1939, the last of 10 siblings to Millard Hansford Eller, Sr. and Dora Lewis Eller. She was from the George Michael Eller line.

Mary graduated from Riverview High School, Ashe County, NC. After graduating in 1960 from the Alexandria Hospital School of Nursing, Mary started her nursing career in the neonatal ward of the Alexandria Hospital caring for the youngest of premature babies. Mary was a revered and well-respected head nurse at McGuire Hospital in Richmond through her retirement in 2005.

Goldie Eller Durham

Goldie Eller Durham, 92, of Fort Payne, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2023. She was born May 21, 1930 to the late Burt Eller and Ollie Owen Eller. She was from the Jacob Eller line.

Her entire family was musical and she enjoyed singing and playing the guitar in her early years with her sisters “The Eller Sisters”. She was preceded in death by her husband Billy Jack Durham.

Mrs. Edna Walls Justice, age 85 of Toccoa passed away January 2, 2023 at Pruitt Health in Toccoa. She was born in Deep Creek, Habersham County, Georgia on December 16, 1937 to Dewey Walls and Lessie Turpen Walls.

Edna retired from Sangamo Electric Company in South Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 Years, James Carnes Justice and an infant son. Mr Justice was from the Jacob Eller line.
