    • Bazard was at that time manager of the Sunrise Mine near Troy, Montana. Because Jim needed to come to Spokane for a few days every couple of weeks for supplies for the mine, the family did not need to move to the mine or to Troy, so the children could remain in school in Spokane, although the family did spend a couple of summers at the mine.
