MRS. ALFRED LEEMAN DIES-

Long Time Resident of Community East of Arcadia- Mrs. Mary Leeman, wife of Alfred Leeman, one of the good pioneer women of east of Arcadia and the mother of Commissioner William Leeman of Hamilton county, died at her home near Arcadia in White River Township at midnight Thursday night. She was eighty-six years of age. No arrangements had been made for the funeral up to noon, Friday, but it was thought that the services would be held sometime Sunday.

Mrs. Leeman had been in poor health for the past eighteen months, largely as a result of a stroke of paralysis. During the last few days her decline is said to have been very noticeable and a result the end was not unexpected. The husband and the following children survive: Mrs. Jacob Foust of Madison county; William Leeman of White River township; Mrs. H. E. Harvey of Louisville, Ky.; Mrs. H. E. Haworth of Atlanta and Mrs. C. D. Thayer of Arcadia. Two of the children died in infancy.

Mr. Leeman is about the same age as his wife. The deceased before her marriage was Miss Mary Eller, member of one of the pioneer families of Hamilton county that lived a short distance east of Arcadia. Following the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Leeman, sixty-four years ago, they moved to White River township and have lived there continuously ever since. They have seen the land in that section of the country converted from woods into fertile farms and both did their full share of work to bring about this condition. No family was better known or better liked than the Leemans. They were both church workers and splendid neighbors.
