    • James D. Fauntleroy graduated from V.M.I. in Civil Engineering. He served in the Spansih-American War. He was a government employee in the Phillipines, first as a Sanitary engineer in Manila and later as Governor of the Island of Negros. When he returned to the US, he served as a government employee in the Department of Roads and the Texas Commission of Roads. (Dicken, p.220)
