- Thomas Eller (June 29, 1889- ) was born in Collin Co., TX. Tom Eller came to the Texas panhandle in 1914 at the age of 15. He became a telegraph operator at the train station in Canadian, Texas. Later he became a farmer.
In a recording made by a nephew, Tom Eller said of farming that he spent the first ten years "breaking out sod and building fences." He farmed with his father and later on his own.
Tom played both the horn and violin. His wife played the piano. Both were active ham radio operators (he in 1939, she in 1940). Both were active bridge players. [3]
