    Sanders, Faraby (1821-1906)
Wife of James Holiday "Jim" Eller

  • Notes
    • Faraby Sanders was the first daughter and third child born to Wright Sanders and Mary (Polly) Fritz. Her father owned considerable farmland in Owen and Monroe Counties. Wright Sanders was a close friend of Rev John Eller. Wright Sanders will reveals his friendship as it is witnessed by John Eller Jr. and names him as an executor. John Eller Jr was an older brother of James H. Eller.
The Sanders family had their "roots" in the Carolinas. His father, Henry, had served in the Revolutionary War and for 40 years was a Baptist minister. Upon the untimely death of her father, Faraby was placed under the guardianship of her Uncle, John Sanders.
She could not read or write.
After the death of her husband, she applied for a widows pension declaring her financial need. She owned 150 acres of"poor land" at this time.
She died 4 Jan 1906 and is buried at the Heddings Chapel Church Cemetery, Owen Co, IN next to her husband and infant daughter, Sara Christian Eller. [1]
