    Text Hi Cousin,
My grandfather was Alfred Eller who married Effie Lily Baker. He was the
illegimate son of Hannah Maria Eller [not Maria Isabella as you had it in
your book] who married Charles A. Stone after he was born. She was the
daughter of John Eller and Eliza Andress. She was born 26 Dec 1861 in
Fayette Co. IA and died 26 Jan 1936 in Shelby, Toole, MT . She is buried in
Castner Falls, MT. Alfred knew that he was illegimate and told no one of
this until a few months before his death. He told my aunt but she already
knew from other sources. There was a rumor that his father was a married
man but who knows if this is true.
There was no 2nd Hannah Eller. John and Eliza only had two daughters. On
Hannah's death certificate she lists John Eller and Eliza Andress as her
parents. I have a copy of this that my aunt who is 89 gave me, she is
Alfred's 2nd oldest child still living. My father is the baby son of the
family. There are still 5 children living.

On Charles Stone - He and Hannah Maria Eller married in 1890 in Iowa and
they had 5 children. 3 of the children and Charles Stone are all buried in
High River, Alberta, Canada. He was born 31 Mar 1855 in Iowa and died 8
Sept 1927 in Shelby, Toole, MT. His father was Willis Stone [1871 VA-1937
    MT].
Children: Floyd M. Stone born Nov 1890 [no death date]; Amanda C. Stone
born Feb 1892 Iowa , married Michael M. Lee [last known in Sacramento, CA]
    but I sure she has passed on since I found this information many years ago;
Alexander F. Stone born Sept 1896 in Castner Falls, Cascade, MT and died abt
1914 in High River, Canada; Willis Stone born [no date] in Castner Falls MT
and died High River in 1914; Myrtle L. Stone born Sept 1898 Castner Falls and
buried in High River [no date].

I have nothing so far on his lst marriage. My father remembers him as a
mean man and said he didn't like his stepgrandfather very well.
I remember my grandfather Alfred as a generous man and always willing to play
with his grandkids instead of tending to chores. He loved to play cards and
we would let him win. He traveled to his children's home till he was about
    95. He would spend winters with each of them for a few weeks at a time then
go to the next one. He worked his farm in the summer till he was about 94.
He came home that summer and decided it was time to give up his farm. Many
years earlier he gave the town of Simms some property across the street from
his home and they built a high school on it. This is where my father
graduated. He grew wheat and potatoes. My father remembers working in the
potato sheds and sorting potatoes as a boy.

I remember going to his farm in the summer and helping with the animals and
riding the tractor. They had some big trees [can't remember the kind] in
front of the house and grandma would work with my aunt's and my mother and
cook great big meals. The whole family would come over and we would have a
big pot luck under the trees in front of the house. It was lots of fun with
all my cousins. When Effie died in 1959, there were 35 grandchildren and 12
great grandchildren. When Alfred died in 1978 there was 36 grandchildren
and 67 great grandchildren and 1 gggrandchild.

In the book "Mountains and Meadows" my grandfather told his story [ He
couldn"t read or write other than his name] . My aunts also wrote a story
about him that he told them about a year before he died. I have a copy of it
and have included it in my own family book for I think it is a good
historical story about my grandfather. Some day I hope to have a book
printed on him as he was a very interesting man.

I will work on the corrections from The Henry Eller Sr. book and get back to
you later. I just got home from work and have to get up early in the morning
but I wanted to answer your email before I went to bed . If you have
anything you want to know about this family just ask as I will answer what I
    can.

    Your cousin,
    Diane
