Mr. Joe Eller, age 83 of Wilkesboro passed away Monday, September 20, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Lewis Fork Baptist Church with Pastor Dwayne Andrews, Pastor Sherrill Welborn and Pastor Joey Moore officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 PM prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Eller was born January 22, 1938 in Wilkes County to James Garfield and Cora Belle Lovette Eller. He was a member of Lewis Fork Baptist Church. Joe loved being outside gardening and to stay busy working. He drove the church bus, loved family time, his church, cookouts and sports. His desire was for everyone to express love toward family and others.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter; Jorene Eller, three sisters; Dolly Clinton, Pearl Hayes and Cora Lou Burchett and three brothers; Grant Eller, Henry Eller and Lonnie Eller.
He is survived by his wife; Peggy Elledge Eller of the home, two daughters; Penny Bentley and husband David of Kitty Hawk, Darlene Mikeal and husband Bret of Wilkesboro, two sons; Joe Eller and wife Sheri of Wilkesboro and Michael Garfield Eller of San Diego, CA, six grandchildren; Joel Parks Bentley, Beth Wagoner and husband Thomas, Deidre Mikeal, Olivia Church and husband Ethan, Justin Bentley and Seth Eller, six great grandchildren; Gracelynn Foster, Ethan Foster, Haley Wagoner, Jacob Wagoner, Harper Church and Hattie Church and a sister; Mary Fox of Seattle, WA. He is also survived by his nephew; Ronnie Eller and wife Chris and many other loved nieces and nephews.
