Josephine Ostrander
Josephine Ostrander, 97, Madison, died Friday, February 11, 2005 at Beverly Healthcare in Madison.
Josephine M. Mackovets was born July 31, 1907, at Roswell, South Dakota, to Joseph and Nan (Mette) Mackovets. She attended school at Roswell and she lived in Artesian, Fedora, Roswell and Mitchell; and for the past 54 years in Madison. She married Earl Ostrander on October 29, 1923, at Woonsocket, SD. She worked as a checker at Council Oaks Grocery Store and later at National, Foods. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1993, and infant son, Robert.
Survivors are: two daughters, Viola Creighton of Sarasota, FL and Faye McGraw of Madison; seven grandchildren; 16 greatgrandchildren; 12 great-greatgrandchildren; two sisters, Anna Ritzman of Sioux Falls and Stella James of Baltic; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday, February 14, at the, Ellsworth Funeral Home with burial at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Artesian. The Ellsworth Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
