- Jacob Aswell, third child of James Luke and Bertha (Tharpe) Eller, never married. He mostly worked on the farm and lived at home. Just before World War II, he was working at the Edgewater Arsenal in Maryland and was drafted into the army. He served overseas for two years and was killed near Aachen, Germany, 19 Nov 1944. He was in the 29th Infantry Division that was hard hit during the war. He was a Technical Sergeant in the 175th Infantry, Company M.
He was re-interred at Arlington National Cemetery.
